HOW TO REMOVE CAR AIR CONDITIONER SMELLS
Occasionally a car air conditioner will not only blow out cold air, but they will blow out a stagnant, musty smell as well. When the air conditioner is turned on it creates moisture which attracts bacteria, mold and odor. There are a couple of solutions to rid your air conditioner of unwanted stenches. Turtle Wax’s Power Out! products are formulated with patented Odor-X technology that seeks and destroys odors at the molecular level.
STEP 1
- Turtle Wax Power Out! Odor-X Odor Eliminator & Refresher Spray can be sprayed directly into vehicle air conditioner vents to eliminate the odor at its source. The Odor-X Odor Eliminator & Refresher Spray will not cover up the foul air conditioner smell, because it will encapsulate the odors and remove them.
- First wipe any excess dirt from around the vent. Shake the Turtle Wax Power Out! Odor-X Eliminator & Refresher Spray well and adjust the nozzle to the jet-stream setting.
- Spray a little or generous amount of product directly into your vents. The odor will continue to be eliminated for weeks.
STEP 2
- Another Turtle Wax Power Out! Odor-X Eliminator & Refresher that seeps well into vehicle air conditioner vents is the Power Out! Odor-X Whole Car Blast. The Whole Car Blast is an Odor-X concentrated fogger in a can that refreshes every surface of the car and will circulate deep into vents to remove odors.
- In order for the Whole Car Blast to reach deep into vents, turn on the car’s air conditioning to the maximum and turn on the air recycle feature.
- Place the can in a cup holder or on the floor of your car and firmly press down on the valve to release the automatic mist. Leave the car and allow it to run for 15 minutes.
- The Whole Car Blast will enter air vents and will leave a Fresh New Car Scent. Select your preferred or both solutions to remove air conditioner smells.

STEP 3
- To prevent the car air conditioner from smelling, limit running the air conditioner on the highest setting to limit moisture build up.
